HANY GIRGIS is the Chief Executive Officer, President and Founder of SGIS.  With over thirteen years of experience in the technical services and government contracting industries, Girgis began SGIS in June 2002.  He has seen great success, growing the company exponentially in just five years.  He continues to oversee all divisions of the company.

Girgis receives frequent recognition for his work through awards and media coverage.  Most recently, the Small Business Administration (SBA) awarded Girgis as San Diego’s Small Business Person of the Year 2007.  This award recognizes Girgis as the outstanding small business person among all candidates in San Diego and Imperial counties in California.  In 2006, Girgis was honored as one of the 40 Under 40 Leaders of San Diego.  This award recognizes the accomplishments of 40 of San Diego’s brightest young business and civic leaders.  He was also a Regional Finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2006 Award in the High Technology Category.  This elite group of well known executives includes leaders and creators who build and sustain world-class businesses that are a testament to vision, leadership, achievement and social responsibility.  Other accomplishments include receiving eight consecutive President’s Club awards and Top 10 Producer of the Year awards.

“To be successful in business you must first hire people who possess tremendous work ethic and a great attitude.  Then you must train them properly; provide them with the best tools and resources to succeed; motivate them and watch them perform,” said Girgis.

Prior to SGIS, Girgis held positions at all levels within the technical services and government contracting industries and was recognized as a top producer in each role.  Girgis worked with some of the nation’s top FORTUNE 500 companies in the Information Technology, Insurance, Finance, Manufacturing, Government and Telecommunications industries.  He began his career as a Resource Manager at a national, publicly traded technical services firm.  Rising quickly through the ranks, Girgis went on to become Team Manager and soon thereafter was asked to open the first office on the West Coast in San Diego, California.  He remained in San Diego as Branch Manager.

Recognizing his own blessings, Girgis believes strongly in giving back to the community and those less fortunate.  In times of global crisis, he endeavors to make a difference in the lives of those affected.  In the wake of the recent California Wildfires and Florida Tropical Storm, Girgis launched the SGIS/ American Red Cross Donation website to support The National Disaster Relief Fund.  SGIS employees, clients and vendors can use this site to donate directly to the Red Cross, and all donations will be matched (up to $5,000) by SGIS.  Earlier this year, Girgis made a generous financial contribution to the British Red Cross, National Floods Appeal to the relief effort for the torrential rain and flooding in England.  He also provided the use of his family’s property for victims of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy.  The displaced evacuees were given a home for six months with amenities, while their homes were rebuilt and or relocated.  On a continuous basis, he provides time and financial contributions to the Partners Mentorship Program and the Renaissance Program at Wilson Middle School, rewarding children for their personal and academic accomplishments.  He also makes financial contributions to Children’s International, American Red Cross and the University of Central Florida Alumni Association.  During the holiday season, Girgis provides for underprivileged families via San Diego Social Services.

Girgis is heavily involved with the Small Business Administration (SBA), donating his time to the organization, even taking part in radio shows, in the hopes of leading other business owners to similar successes.  He is also actively involved in other professional organizations, including the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA); the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI).

Girgis attended the University of Central Florida and graduated with high honors in Electrical Engineering.  Girgis continues to support his alma mater through the Alumni Association.
