SGIs hosts golf tournament benefiting
susan g. komen for the cure
Washington, D.C. Metro Area (October 15, 2007) – SGIS held their
second annual golf tournament in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure at The
Courses at Andrews Air Force Base at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland in the
Washington, D.C. Metro Area. The charity
event raised almost $4000.00.
“We are proud to have
supported such an important cause and help raise awareness in the fight to
eradicate breast cancer,” said SGIS Chief Operating Officer Vince Virga.
“Events such as this are only possible through the participation and
sponsorship of generous individuals and organizations, and we thank everyone
who contributed to the tournament’s success.”
A total of 65 golfers,
in teams of four, competed for the title over 18 holes. The entrance fee of $100 per individual
included a buffet dinner, a best ball tournament, one range token with
unlimited range balls, the use of the practice facility one hour prior to
tee-off and various on-course fundraising contests. The winning team received $1,000, the 2nd
place team received a round of golf for four and the 3rd place team
received golf passes with coupons for local golf courses. Participants were awarded with prizes in other
