SGIS named finalist for two technology leadership awards

Fort Lauderdale, FL (December 1, 2006) – SGIS was named a finalist for the ITFlorida Government Technology Leadership Award in the Private Companies category, as well as the High Growth Company of the Year Award.  Finalists and winners will be honored at the fourth annual Awards Gala on December 7th at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.  SGIS was one of over 100 nominees chosen at the statewide level.  The ITFlorida Awards Program has been a highly successful showcase for the innovations and leadership taking place in Florida in the IT and IT-enabled industry sectors.  An independent panel of judges evaluated the finalists based on a multitude of criteria specific to each award.

The Government Technology Leadership Award acknowledges an innovative IT initiative or solution for its contributions to a state or local government agency's mission accomplishment, service to the public and cost effectiveness.  The award recognizes those initiatives or solutions that: improve the delivery of services to citizens and enterprises; break down barriers between offices, agencies and departments or between federal, state and local governments; or significantly reduce the cost of governance.

The High Growth Company of the Year Award recognizes a company or operation that has demonstrated a strategic and successful market focus, that has driven or responded to the market and that has developed its production, delivery and servicing capabilities to fully leverage its market position and achieve exceptional growth.

“We are honored to have been selected as one of the top innovators and leaders contributing to the advancement of technology in our market segment,” said COO Vince Virga.  "We are dedicated to continue offering our customers the best services in the IT industry in 2006 and beyond.”
