SgIs named a finalist for business of the year

Tampa , FL (October 25, 2006) – SGIS was named a finalist in Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Business of the Year award for 2006, in the Professional Services category.  130 companies were nominated, but only 39 finalists chosen. An independent panel of judges evaluated companies on criteria that include sales and revenue of local business units for the past three years; why this year was noteworthy; the company's strategic plan; and management's relationship with both employees and customers.

Finalists will be honored at a black-tie event at the Hyatt Regency Tampa Hotel in December.  Winners of each category and an overall winner will be announced at the event.  Representing SGIS at the ceremony will be the Tampa Vice Presidents Vito Balacco and Jason Lipton.

"We are honored to receive such esteemed recognition from the Tampa Bay Business Journal and are thrilled to be considered for the Business of the Year award," said Lipton.  “The continued positive response we've received within our industry and also from the business community validates the efforts that our team has put forth since the company's inception.”

“I am proud and thankful to all SGIS employees and customers for enabling us to receive this honor,” added Balacco.  “As we gain momentum as a rapidly growing company, we hope to continue our success in the years to come.”

Since its inception in June 2002, SGIS has seen phenomenal revenue increases each year.  With current revenues in excess of $52 million, a growth factor of over 10,000% within the first four years of business, the company’s employee base has also grown dramatically, currently employing over 630 people.  SGIS attributes its success to the hard-work and dedication of its employees, the loyalty of customers and the expansion into various market segments with a diverse set of service offerings.
