SGIS Senior Account Manager, also the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee for the South Florida Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), presented four high school students with one $5,000 college scholarship each at a recent awards luncheon held in Miami, Florida. Students must have met all criteria to be eligible and attend a college or university to pursue a degree in hard sciences, mathematics or engineering disciplines – those which support AFCEA’s focus on Communications, Electronics, Information Technology, Security and Intelligence systems. Award recipients included students from Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe and/or Miami-Dade Counties: Mylo Cheng, Mirela Vasconcelos, Matthew Stankowicz and Joshua Eisenburg. Angel Febles, Command Sergeant Major (CSM), United States Army served as a guest speaker at the awards event.

SGIS has hired Michael Albano, a retired United States Marine Corps Colonel and seasoned executive, as Division Vice President of Information Technology Services. With over 29 years of experience in the Information Technology and Government Contracting industries, Albano oversees and is involved in business development for East Coast Information Technology services. He is in charge of the Bid and Proposal (B&P) process, identifying and approving potential business targets and supervising the capture process for selected targets. Albano also oversees all employees in his division. He is based out of the Tampa, Florida office.

SGIS BRIEFS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AT HOWARD COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE SPRING 2008 TECHNOLOGY DAY
SGIS Lead Technical Training Specialist Marc Saldana briefed over 250 high school students from Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Howard County Public School System at the Spring 2008 Technology Day at Howard County Community College in Columbia, Maryland. His presentation exposed students to various innovative technology careers and motivated them to take additional, more advanced science, math and other technology-related classes to help prepare them for their careers. Saldana was chosen to present due to his subject matter expertise and outstanding presentation skills.

SkillStorm, Inc. dba SGIS (herein referred to as SGIS) has been awarded a SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) Project Management, Administrative and Information Support prime contract by the United States Navy in support of the Base Realignment and Closure Program Management Office (BRAC PMO). The work will be performed in San Diego, California; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Charleston, South Carolina; San Francisco, California; and Washington, D.C. SGIS united with Rally for a Cure to hold its 1st Annual Golf Tournament in support of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation at the Reston National Golf Course in Reston, VA. The charity event raised $4,330 with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.

SkillStorm Government Services announced today that it has changed its name to more accurately reflect the services that it offers its customers. The organization is now SkillStorm Government Integrated Solutions and will be known going forward as SGIS. SGIS IS AWARDED SEAPORT-E CONTRACT BY UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY
SGIS announced today a prime contract award from the United States Department of the Navy to be a provider for their competition for service requirements solicited by Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Strategic Systems Programs, and the Marine Corps. 251 contractors were awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contracts.
